I know it's basic stuff but it was more enjoyable than sitting indoors watching rubbish telly with the enemy!!
Finally got round to fitting the firesteel blank in a bit of antler I had, which sits in the hand nicely at that angle and should make striking a doddle.
Is there any need to coat or treat the antler with anything. I had to sand it lightly to get some marks and grubbiness off?
Also started on a catty after stumbling across a perfect branch while I was out in the woods with my boys earlier. Gonna try and stain it up with tea once it's dried out a bit.
Just gotta order a bit of elastic from that Hunter catty fella and we'll see how it performs!
