1st Night in Yorkshire DD Hammock & Tarp! - Yes there some Pics!

So after weeks of waiting and a few day trips out, myself Montainm and Resnikov took a little trip out on Saturday night.

The location was just outside my local village, and in a wood owned by a local farmer who had kindly given permissions.

We had done a reccie a few weeks back and the difference in the wood was quite amazing. Certainly a little wetter, but greener!

What I also had not noticed the type of tree, which it turns out were Beech or Widowmakers?!

That said was very suitable.

Only a few pics....

So Camp Set...

Then we built a fire (In hindsite would dig a hole for the fire next time)

It certainly got going and was very effective!

I took a wonder to the edge of the wood to see how well hidden we were.....

Hit the hammock at 10pm ish.... shoes onto the shoe rack!!

.....and I slept well! Highly reccommended, learnt loads and only had one epic fail....

Oh and a special mention to Raikey and his great menu suggestion! Was lovely!

Looks like you had a tremendous time. How did you melt the mug, were you warming the wine by the fire?

That's what nodding off by the fire gets you - but to be fair it was about 2 feet away. The black plastic just absorbed the heat.

To be honest Dave I happen to know the three farmers and Landowners nearby to where i live! So pretty lucky to be honest!

Make sure you keep the mug- its amazing what passes as modern art these days, you might make a few quid out of it!

Yeh should be good and no shortage of wood. Its amazing though how quickly you can burn it!
