So a friend at work asked me to clean up the knife he had from his father when he was in the Scouts. I was expecting something from Western Cutlery, not a rather nice puukko with blade engraving.

Looks like a Marttiini, but I am no expert. Anyone able to translate whatever it says on the blade?

It says as follows:
IISAKKI JÄRVENPÄÄ (manufacturer) KAUHAVA (mfg location) ERIKOISVUOLU (model of the puukko, which translates into something like "special whittle").

Fantastic! Thanks Kopteri :D Just showed this to my colleague and he has a big grin just knowing.

Having that info makes it easy to trace other threads discussing this make and model. There are a couple over on British Blades.

Thanks again folks :).
