    Thanks for the message, the tribe got home very tired after a stay at Cranham. Dans clothes under his waterproofs were not only dry, but also clean. Only his boots and socks were dirty and smelly. Nomad course was fantastic and he has made 5 metres of nettle string so far.

    I have already tried the 3 pop bottles each has a layer of moss at the bottom to stop my filter media disappearing. This was to prove filtering can be done with things you find in a survival situation. As is was for a survival challenge scout badge award. Obviously boiled afterwards also...

    We did use a battery to also run our laptop, over the 10 days the solar charger didn't seem to charge the battery enough to fully charge the battery if we were also charging a laptop. But it kept us going enough to get us nearly home. Maggie

    Used something like this on a 10 day scout jamboree a few years ago, so long as my phone was not a nokia it charged really well. Found a work around for nokia though, just used the solar panel to charge a 12 volt motorcycle battery and then charged the phone from the battery using a cigar...
