    Meet ups

Can anyone tell me of any meet ups that happen near peterborough ie groups that welcome new members, travel not an issue really just gives you an idea where I am based. Don't know any people that are interested in bushcraft so this forum is the only place I meet people who are. Finding land...

    New rucksack

Have no idea who I could get to make one without paying silly money, toyed with the idea of making one myself but not sure I could pull it off so sort of stuck with that.

    New rucksack

    New rucksack

I think I'm going to go with the sabre 60/100. Best of 2 sizes with a back I can adjust for my size. It's a hard choice up against fjallraven, bach, granite gear and many others but I know from the predator that the karrimor bags are so tough there hard to beat at the price. Hope its the right...

    Hammocks

I've got to say I can't thank you all enough, plenty of info on equipment and systems people use and the flaws that come with certain brands. Has made my decision an easier one to make.

    New rucksack

Yeh that thought had crossed my mind as making my own would give me the chance to copy all the features of other bags into one which would suit me more, plus sometimes customised gear beats the hell out of off the shelf bought. Wonder where I can get the right materials, gunna do some research...

    Hammocks

I'm in peterborough, right next to Holme wood, a big nature reserve. Pretty lucky having that on my doorstep. I agree with your view that buying once is the way to go as it will cost less in the long run I feel so cost is not so much of an issue as I'm more interested in carrying less, learning...

    New rucksack

Hi all, I need a new rucksack and my karrimor sf predator 45 which i bought real cheap isn't for me. Been using it for a year now only for fishing about 100 yards from my car. Personally the whole molle everywhere, military look isn't for me. I've got nothing against anyone who likes that it's...

That looks amazing, why have I not seen that before, now I'm not sure what to buy flyingfisherman. I like the way it has like 2 settings with being able to turn into a chair.

    Hammocks

Thanks Richard, some really good advice there, a good idea of what is essential for a system to use both in a hammock or on the ground. I haven't got a sleeping bag yet as I'm still clawing through review after review on all the equipment I need but I have got my lightweight dd tarp sf bivvy...

    Hammocks

Lots of questions still, like the idea of a hammock but how warm are they, do you need an under blanket aswell as a sleeping bag, little bit limited to location fishing wise as a struggle to find 2 trees to pitch(I won't always be fishing mind) as I'm limited to rucksack space would it be easier...

I'm new to bushcraft and have been fishing for years in a tent and am slowly moving away from it but don't know what is the best option. I want to carry on fishing...
