Hi I am having a bit of a cull on my stoves and brew kits etc and I came acoss my old Clikstand in titanium. I was going to put it up for sale or trade but I have no idea what its worth. I do know they were pretty hard to come by in this country and were quite sought after but that is some time...
I just came across this old Bialaddin lamp in the shed. I dont need it so I'm planning on selling it but dont know what its worth. Its obviously old but seems to be in reasonably good nick considering its age. The glass is clean and totally free from cracks or chips. The mantle is burst so I...
Well its getting near the time of year again when the dreaded midge feeds viciously on us sweet blooded ones. I was wondering what everyone used to keep them at bay. I've tried most of the usual suspects including the 'skin so soft' stuff that a lot of people swear by. I've had varying degrees...

I decided to have a go at HT'ing a blade. The blade is made of O1 and was HT'ed in a BBQ using an old hair dryer to bring the temp up. This seamed to work OK as I got it to cherry red in no time. It was then quenched in oil. I repeated the process and then tempered in an oven for one hour at 230...
Hi,
Just thought I would show you guys my first attempt at a bushcraft style stock removal blade. It has been made from 3mm O1 tool steel and heat treaded by Lord Farquhar over on the british blades site. The grinds are not perfect but I'm pretty happy with them as they were done completely...
Can anyone tell me what kind of wood this is and if its any good for spoon making. It came from a tree that has been felled recently behind my home.
Cheers....Gumbob
Hi,
My son and I are planning to have a go at making our first spoons over the festive season. Are there woods that are better than others for this and if so what ones? Also, we will not be using hook/spoon knives so any advice you can give will be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks..Gumbob...
Have seen links to this site on the BB web site a few times and thought its about time I registered.
