Photos from Sweden and Norway Trip

I will upload a google earth path so you can see exactly where we went (although I am slightly unsure of the starting point as it involved a 700m portage and paddling across several small stretches of water before we reached lake rogen.) going through the travel company was my friend's idea...

Photos from Sweden and Norway Trip

The fish were beautiful and wild (although quite small). This was the biggest and it was ~half a pound. the rest were returned unharmed. I was going to take some fly fishing gear with me but decided against it and hiring rods/reels etc proved too expensive (as well as having to carry the extra...

Photos from Sweden and Norway Trip

Teepee - you aren't kidding about the mossies! (and termites/ants!). The repellant I used, deet50, was pretty effective though - the guys I was with on the other hand got shredded. Fredster - the "old town" canoe was really heavy and there were many several portages over very challenging...

Photos from Sweden and Norway Trip

Hi Everyone, Started in Sweden, canoed in to Norway. Went through Rogen nature reserve on the Swedish side and finished at top of lake Feragen. Covered ~70km in total over 8 days and had a great time. Norway was particularly beautiful. Hope you like the pics...

Pleasantly suprised by photos on camera

My favourite too. The cracks on the surface of the bracket fungus are quite cool as well and I was suprised by some of the colours in that picture, on closer inspection.

Pleasantly suprised by photos on camera

Took some photos whilst out walking and on review, at a much later date, I was suprised how some of them had turned out. Played with them a bit and these are the three better ones. I like the movement captured by the alder, the atmosphere/composition of the black and white landscape, and the...

Hammocks/Canoes/Fly Fishing - Location suggestions please

Hi all, Can anyone suggest a good place to go that would include hammocking/wild camping, canoeing and some fly fishing? it's a long shot but you never know, someone must have done it! anywhere in the UK but central/around london would be ideal. Don't want to spend a fortune either...

    Binocular recommendations please

I bought the 7dayshop 10x42 Waterproof Binoculars and said I would get back with a review so here goes (please note that my opinion on binoculars is not a particularly informed one and I am only giving my own initial impressions having given them a short test today in good light on the beach)...

    Binocular recommendations please

Well i've gone and done it - ordered a pair of these as I really don't think they can be beaten on value, especially if they live up to the reviews. My only apprehension is about the weight but then I don't see many binoculars that are significantly lighter, particularly those that are also...

    Binocular recommendations please

BTW - the travelites by Nikon get a very good review on birdforum.net, with the only downside being their performance in low light levels, apparently. I think I am going to buy a very cheap pair to begin with and can then decide whether I really need anything better. Thanks for all the input.
