suggestions please - wild foods in sweden...

Hi everyone,

starting this holiday in a few days with a couple of friends:

and I was wondering what the most readily available and easily identifiable wild foods may be available to supplement our diet?

we are taking enough with us to keep us going for the whole holiday but thought it would be nice to do some foraging/fishing etc.

Maybe no point in posting this now seeing as you guys probably took off already, but do bear in mind that if the waters aren't connected to the baltic sea most likely you will be required to buy a fishing license as fishing isn't a right covered by the right of public access.

Depending on where in Sweden you're going, you'll find cloud- blue - and lingonberries this time a year. Chanterelle and cep mushrooms are another food generally easy to identify. Maybe nettles, too. But unless you plan to stop to hunt or look deeper into foraging, well, then that's pretty much the options you'll have in a coniferous forest.
