i have been looking at getting a bell tent but not sure about the opening for a flue, if not using the chimney how do you seal the opening securely against the rain? is it possible to convert a normal canvas tent to take a flue? if so, how, and is it easily achieved? do you have to wet them...

Just bought myself a second hand goretex bivi bag off ebay, the guy said its waterproof but thats easy to say. so i was wondering if there is a paticular way to check that it actually is waterproof before i jump in the bath with it on!!!! cheers

Examineing your pic of the double set up i can see an under blanket, when the weather is a little inclement does the under blanket suffer from getting wet? I have read a few threads about using a karabiner to stop the water running down the hammock strings but if its windy then if the rain...

What size tarp are you using in the first photo by the car? looks quite big.. I have a dd 3x3. putting the corners down low like the hh tarps seems my preferred option for windy/wet nights but obviously not very user friendly for daytime activities so would need to rearrange. thanks martin...
