Hi guys,
I am a lone bushcrafter from sw London. So far everything was fine. I went out alone and most times I did enjoy it but lately I started getting a little bit bored when I am out there alone.
If any one else out there in the London area who also think that a company would be a great...
Hi,
My one is just going to be 5 in may. I am surprized how much she loves these kind of outdoorsy things. I thought she would be more in to just regular playing like hide and seek but she is really interested in bushcraft as well. I hope she will keep her interest when she gets older.
My daughter and I had a great day in our local park. This is the second biggest park in London called the Bushy Park.
It was a bushcraft day for us as I was teaching her how to do some bits in the woods. Here is the link for the video...
I've had a day out in the woods and I was trying out some home made and kitchen stuff how they work in the forest. This is the short video I made about it:

These ones make a little bit of black smoke, not much tho. But they burn a little longer than the original solid fuel blocks my hexi came with.
,,Try some bits of wood cooked in the wax for a wee while. Great fuel rods of fat wood.''
Thanks for the advice, I will try it out.

This is how I made these fuel blocks for my hexi stove. They work fine as fire starters as well and each one gives more than enough heat to boil up 0,5 L water.

,,OK, here's how the local native community lived in winters with real cold (-30C) and real snow (5-15').''
and this is how an other local community build a pit house with almost real cold (only -25C) and almost real snow (30-40cm) just in a few hours.
I would not even bother to built a log house. That is a time and tree consuming job.
I would just build a pit house, something like this (from 3.30) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-lfefLNv3U

In Hungary mostly I've found ww2 or cold war era weaponry. The Red Army left Hungary in 1990 and left behind lots of stuff all over in the countryside.
I've had a large collection of spent ammo few helmets some belt buckles a rifle's bolt action and few more bits.
Older folks told us stories...
To hunt a deer they did not even have to go anywhere far just to the nearest water source. And just wait until any animal come to drink. This is what I would done.
Now this is something I've never heard of.
It just shows how much the world has changed in a couple of decades.
I was a kid in the late 80's early 90's. I grew up in a small village in Hungary. Then and there we had no computer games, mobile phones or all day long tv programs for kids like...
Hi Will,
well I am a bit confused now. Heard both good and bad about new forest.
I might just go down for a little walk to see the park before planning anything serious.
Thanks for the info.

Hi Jack,
When I was checking out the park on google maps I noticed that there are lots of trails and footpaths in New Forest like you said.
I am all ways extremely careful about things like putting up a tarp or making a little camp fire. Don't want to be called the ,,ignorant foreigner'' who...
Hi Mark,
thanks for the answer. This is the kind of answer I was hoping for:)
It is really hard to find a quiet place where a little outdoor cooking can be done.
Now it's certain that I am going to go to visit this place very soon.
All the bests.
