    Has anybody used a broadfork?

Any suggestions where to get one in the UK? Something like a meadow creature or a treasure? Don't mind the cost, but the p&p is extortionate. My garden, and I use the term very loosely, has lots of rocks in clay. Normally if I want to plant something, a pickaxe and digging bar are involved. I...

    Sold Two neck knives

Black one arrived safe today, within twenty four hours of me buying it. Lovely thing, good size, clearly very capable and well made knife. Bit bigger than I was expecting, would make a perfect stand alone bushcraft knife. Thank you Rob, top quality product.

    proofing nubuck boots

I've bought a pair of meindl trento gtx boots. Thsese are great -the comfort fit fits me better than anything I've tried in years. The only problem I have is the nubuck finish. The goretex liner keeps them waterproof, but the leather soaks up water. This is a problem as I often walk in the...

Power banks and external mobile phone batteries

I bought an Anker of amazon which was DOA. I reported it to amazon, Anker asked for a serial code and had a new one to me the next day (from 6.30pm!). Told me not to worry about returning the ther one. That's what you call customer service. Darren

    Ankles? Medical advice please.

Get a wobble board. Quick glance on the internet, do some exercises. I normally do 20 circles in both directions. Take it easy to start with and build up. Certainly seemed to work for me. Darren

    Sharpening with Waterstones

Different peoples stone are slightly differetly graded. I would recomend something like a powerfile to change grinds or remove any big chips. Then a quick go over with a 400 stone to set your angles and grinds. Then a 1000 -this is good enough for most uses. 4000 gives a very smooth edge...

I confess to batoning with a folding knife.

Can I point out, there is a tool for splitting wood, called a froe (not the dodgy hairstyle, though personally I think using those to split wood would be an appropriate sanction). So if you're considering using your fine edged bushcraft knife as splitting tool, just say froe.:lmao:

    A deaf dog dilemma......

Https://www.amazon.co.uk/Training-Rechargeable-Waterproof-Vibration-Backlight/dp/B0135IWSP8 someone makes one with a remote controlled bright light on the collar, but i can't find it at the moment. I wouldnt be without the electric one for our springer cross collie. If he looses the plot...

    knife kits?

I bought a vaughan sub zero 10 inch axe of ebay for about £15. It looks like a toy. I put a couple of hours work in to it and I'm pretty convinced it would out chop any of my considerably more expensive large knives. Victorinox alox farmer as an everyday knife, and victorinox rangergrip 79 if...

    Scarpa Cyrus GTX boots.

I've had a pair of scarpa fabric gtx boots (can't remember which ones, but they were from go outdoors, and I paid full whack, as they were the widest one they had). They're 2 and half years old, they've had some reasonable hammer -mainly the black peak, full of peat bogs, the soles are about...
