    Snugpak Bergen anyone?

I have the Snugpak and wish I had put my money elsewhere. The stitching on the shoulder straps began separating after first use, the mesh side pocket ripped on second use. The frame is a little too big and the velcro doesn't hold it in place and the plastic end caps on the frame detached and...

    Evernew Ti stove question

Ditto above. Did you not realise the price of Meths before forking out on a TI burner? Meths does vary wildly in price so just shop around. I think buying the 2 ltr works out a bit cheaper. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk - now Free

    Camping and the strong wind.

Ditto the bungees. Whenever we have a gale, I head for one of the big camp sites the morning after. The number of quality tents that are binned keep me in stuff bag/tarp fabric for another year! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk - now Free

Being sensible ? Carbon monoxide and Methanol

The difference in BTU output is negligible, this opinion is based on my own side by side comparison (i have a video of the test). The difference in boiling a cup of water is measured in seconds, yet as I've stated, Methanol can be obtained FAR cheaper than Meths.

Being sensible ? Carbon monoxide and Methanol

You'll always get views in both camps, some extreme either way. For my 2 peneth, I agree with rick_uk. All fuels have their risks. Methanol appears to be more of a health risk than ethanol ( http://www.flints.co.uk/pdffiles/methylated_spirits.pdf ), but used with common sense it should pose no...

Uses for an old tree saw and rip saw?

Gee whizz folks. I'll just hang the dam thing in my cave. Handbags down now and play nice with the other children please! Mouse, when are we going kingfisher hunting then? I miss all the fun ;-) (Is that a "saw" point? If so, don't be "cross" with me or "rip" me a new one when we get...

Uses for an old tree saw and rip saw?

Now now Red, lets not poke fun at the simple folk. Cross cut/rip saw its just a saw to me but the owner who kindly gave it to me described it as a cross cut saw so who am I to argue. He's had it some 40 years before me. The one I'm thinking of putting a torch to is that saw. The other is a...
