Hey Guest, Early bird pricing on the Summer Moot (29th July - 10th August) available until April 6th, we'd love you to come. PLEASE CLICK HERE to early bird price and get more information.
I use this pack and I like it. But it's not 45ltr - it's 80ltr or even maybe 90ltr pack. I'm planning to use mine with an old external frame.
A german folding mat fits perfectly in the internal pocket on the back.
Diamond side of DC4 is about 600 grit.
You shouldn't put too much pressure on diamond stones (actually you should use just the weight of the blade) - maybe you are tearing diamond bits out and the brown stuff may be some kind of coating?
Here are some pics of half of the tent setup. It's setup at 135 cm height. ( Sixth pic at 120cm).

You can see that german folding mat is too long to fit in there.
Hope this helps...

Prices are in polish "Zloty" 1 quid is 4,5 Zloty. Pretty simple math :D
It is not worth it. It may look nice but it's heavy, (extremely heavy when wet), it's too small. It's not 2,5 m diameter- it is 1,8 m diameter at best.
40 pounds !!!???!!! You can buy it in Poland for 2-3 quid piece.
Sorry for going off-topic but I have to ask. How is this BK-9 doing? Which one do You prefer- BK-7 or BK-9 ?
I use 4 inch or smaller blades like most guys here but I can not lie to myself- I like those big blades :D
We used saw to cut the log and axe to split it and digging stick. Don't think that there's easier way ( without chainsaw).

You can use small twigs or shavings if there is no bark.
I split the log in quarters with axe or knife and wedge. Then embed all quarters in the ground about 3 inches deep to bring to "log shape" again. It works ok :) So no chainsaw required. :)
This is how I set up my poncho most of time. I use german poncho. There are dutch and us army ponchos as well. :)

So You're going to have plenty of time to visit all the places that I've mentioned. :) And even more. :)
You may also consider Mroźna Cave, Mylna Cave (you'll need torch, good boots and warm hat :) ) and Giewont ( very dangerous during storms- there's a huge steel cross on the summit)...
Well- If You want to see some wildlife stay as far as possible from Zakopane :) Be prepared- it's gonna be crowded :)
However- I can recommend:
Dolina Chochołowska ( Chochołowska Valley)
Dolina Kościeliska ( Kościeliska Valley)
Morskie Oko
Kasprowy Wierch
Dolina Pięciu...
