Have a look at Yellow Wood http://www.bushcraftadventures.com/ it's right on the welsh border not far from Brecon, I've been there a couple of time and it's great. Or if you like wild camping with just a tarp and bivvi go up in the hill around Talybont or Pont-nedd-Fechan (near Glyn-Neath)...

I'd suggest you get some good insect repellent and a net as the last time I went there in the summer I was eaten alive in the night. But Dartmoor is a great place for bivving the eaten alive bit was the only down part of my trip.

Some of us are planning a meet on the brecons around Feb/Mar, will PM you the dates/details when it's sorted if you like.

Forest For the Brecons there are 2 good places to park your car and head into the hills that I know of. One is Talybont on Usk not far from Brecon off the A40 you can head for Pen Y Fan from there, and the second is Pont Nedd Fechan by Glen Neath off the A465. Talybont is better for hill...

There seems to be some concern about the laplanders from Amazon, I bought one before posting this and it's fine.

If anyone is looking to buy a laplander they are selling them on Amazon for £14.97 at the moment with free delivery.

Thanks Lyndon Jason and me had a great time, we both loved every minute of it, can't wait for our next get together. And thanks to Kathy for her advice on the bow drill, I've tried it about 10 time since I've got back and it's worked every time. Tim
