    Help with a few ID's

We got there in the end lol. Though i cant find anything for the first tree. If you waited till it was in leaf and broke a bit off and took it to your local garden centre they should have someone able to ID it for you. though im guessing it is deciduous so id only do that if no one comes up...

    Help with a few ID's

I think the leaves look too small to be ling, (http://www.newforestnpa.gov.uk/info/20090/wildlife/180/heathland_plants/5) which leaves one other of the two Erica sp. , either the cross leaved one or the bell heather. id go with the bell heather, i think its most similar...

    Help with a few ID's

Walnut would get my vote, (it definatly isnt a fig i think) however, as said, the leaves are not pinnate, but orther than that they look identical so im stumped (pun intended, sorry :P ), sorry but im not a fungi person at all. The plant you say is a heather, i couldnt bring myself to say it is...

Foraging / surviving from the land

Now that i think about it, maybe plant life going extinct is the wrong words, but what i actually mean is succession, if that is the right word lol. look at the habitats from the north pole down, it goes from ice tundra, to pine forests to broad leaf forests to Mediterranean habitats to the...

Foraging / surviving from the land

Well as far as i know, humans, and i mean us, were about either during or litterally just after the last ice age in euope as that is what people think caused the neanderthals to go exticnt, ie we out competed/interbred with them. but as with all science there is diffing opinions. but what is...

Foraging / surviving from the land

Ive just done this at uni lol, they reckon however long ago that the Hunter gatherer had a far better life than a farmer would have. HG would spend three hours a day apparently (how they work that out i dont know but experts are meant to know what they are doing lol) leaving lots of time for...

Is it too early / late for Daiseys ?

Down in bristol a few weeks back there were cherry trees in flower lol, most daisies or leucanthemum (although my latin may be out it is what they are sold as in my local garden centre) are herbaceous perennials so they should die back in the winter, only when the weather is right though, but as...

    the 69 million dollar question

    Small Pots and Bottles

Rather deja vu as i am making putting everything in pots for mine right this second lol, They are personal taste really so no two will be identical, i have garlic powered and bicarbonate of soda to mine as they have many uses and benefits, and also some curry power to spice things up with (pun...

Making and using a small coastal gill net videos

No matter if they are legal or not, commercial or personal, locals and fishermen take a very harsh look on them. So expect to be opposed if you are caught by locals, even if it is legal (which i do not know if they are). And in a bug out situation, they will have to be hidden else people will...

    if you could?

I would say the exact same thing. As for what i would see, it would have to be the thing that killed the dinos as well and i am surprised no one has mentioned it, but i would also like to see the first life come to life, (obviously i would take a very good pair of glasses lol)

    Fish traps

Not done it personally but it sounds like a good idea. Only thing is would you remove the thorns, i cant think off of the top of my head the advatages of leaving them on, but it would be time consuming to remove them, but tricky to make with them in place.

    Fungi absorbing toxins

Hmmm, i have never got why glowing in the dark would be an advantage to a supr hero as wouldnt he be an easier target for the baddies??? But anyway, it was just really a thought i had and wondered people opinions. I personally wouldnt eat one from around a yew tree or laburnum only cause i was...

    Fungi absorbing toxins

Hello everyone, I have read somewhere that fungi are very suseptable to absorbing toxins out of the air or what not when they grow by the roadside so they should not be eaten near a busy road. Same goes for plants as well i think. So if fungi can absorb them like that, what would you all...
