    Knife Sharpening

Hi folks. I've purchased a Dianova classic diamond sharpener to sharpen some of my knives (and because it's small, put it in my kit bag!). I've got a small selection, but specifically i'm trying to sharpen my swiss army knife (cybertool model i think), my whitby folding knife (i use for food...

    Tomy: My First Bush Knife

So it arrived, along with a handful of new paracord and a peanut lighter! I whipped up a quick lanyard from 550 cord, half grey half olive. It feels great weight wise, seems to cut reasonably well out of the box (fine on paper edges..), i'm yet to consider sharpening it .. mainly for fear of...

    Ski Survival

heh. Southey: without being there and doing a trial run holiday, its hard to imagine the potential hazards. Watching some TV (whilst im not going to be building snow shoes from reeds..) does inspire thought and can remind you of what you need. My memory isn't great, and seeing someone else do...

    Bushcraft Booze

Maybe we should put a recipe book together.. From experience, nettle & elderflower cordial is great and simple to make. Whack both together, grind it up, add sugar, water, make a viscious cordial and strain, stick some leaves of both in the bottle, leave it for as long as you can wait...

    Ski Survival

Hm, some good tips! I'll be on trails all the time, the resort is reknowned for being quite difficult so i dont think i'll need any more of a challenge. Avalanche beacon sounds like a good plan, but i can't afford it at £200+ I'll be looking at things like colouring/dye and carrying some form...

    Ski Survival

Hi All, I'm lucky enough to be off to Wyoming in Jan for a long ski trip, i'm yet to see anyone discuss survival in a ski situation. Whilst i'm waiting for the day i get stranded in the british woodland ... i think its much more likely i'll get stuck on the mountains in back country Jackson...

    Bushcraft Booze

Here's something i've wondered on many a drunk night .. tonight inclusive...: Has anyone any recipes for some bushcraft drinks, or ideally something with a special touch? I'm sat here enjoying a nice ginger beer, i'd love to be able to whip something up a bit more .. home made, or ideally...

does anyone know anything about these...

whatever people think about ray mears, can't help but point out this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ar9NxUIrL4 the idea of making your own, carving it and then oiling it or protecting it.. would be a nice touch.

    Gerber Pocket Sharpener

I'm not sure if i made a mistake purchasing this? I saw it for only £3 and thought 'what the hell, why not...', chucked it in with my amazon CD order. Just can't seem to get it to make any impact on my whitby lock knife. Anyone have one of these, used it successfully or know how i should be...

    Tomy: My First Bush Knife

i mean, i can afford it - but i know people are happier with a lot less and i dont think my zero bushcraft skill warrants such nice gear. yet. I'll just sit in envy for now, and im sure the condor is more than enough for me... heh, by far.

    Tomy: My First Bush Knife

http://www.bushcraftuk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=81402I this looks pretty amazing, is it worth the spend? I dont want to be the guy with all the gear, no idea.. and i think its out of my budget but.. wow. someone should snap that up - looks like its 1/3 the retail price?!
