Me and the family had a realy good day on saturday even with the car park situation , I left the wife in the car and helped with some pushing the poor marshals were knackerd .It was a shame only a small handfull of other guest had the same idea

This was more work than I expected fileing down 5mm of 01 steel on a 10" blade takes ages with no power tools.
Im not a big fan of large knives but this was a request from a friend and hes a big chap 😊

Im just starting out making my own knifes and have been collecting wood to be used as handles but they need to season first. Looking on some sites the price for common (native English) wooden scales was crazy.
Randomly after letting my wife drag me round the local b&q I spotted some solid oak...
I ordered some 3mm steal earlier. What I'm going for is a simple woodlore type knife which I found a good template online for. After reading a few posts here I believe this may become an addictive hobby
