    survivor man

must admit, this series so far isn't as good as the previous ones. I found out that the very first 2 pilot episodes of suvivorman were completely done by Les, editing, titles, music, everything. Hat's off to him for that.

    gratuitously messy workshop

    Birmingham

so, is wild camping allowed on national parkland or open access areas? or is it a case of not being caught?

    Good trousers at Asda

my 12yr old has some of the kid's combats from Asda, theyve put up with nearly 18months of scout camps and activities. If they can stand up to that they're good value in my book.

    Comments about bushcraft uk

Im a mod on another site and we too ban a fair amount of them too, though we catch most of them before they're even let loose on the site. As for my views on the forum…I think this place is great, so much knowledge and advice here, It's you guys, the members that make it such a great forum.

    Bush Loo

my loos on scoutcamps are always 3ft long a 1ft wide by 2ft deep, small spade and soil on top when used. Maybe you could make the seat so it could slide along the channel letting it be filled evenly.

    Lansky Knife Sharpener Kit

cheers guys, to be honest I have no idea what a scandi grind is. You say it won't be suited to hard steels, the knives i use most are fairly new Gerbers of varying sizes (so im guessing they fall into this hard steel category), would this kit be any good for them or should i look at one of...

    Lansky Knife Sharpener Kit

I just came across this on ebay (link below) and wondered if anyone has ever used one, and if so how good they were. Seems like a pretty foolproof way of putting an edge back on my scouts knives while on camp, as many of them turn up with knives that you'd struggle to peel a carrot with...

    Things to try with scouts

they've probably done more than most scouts, dandelion soup, nettle tea, been taught to identify most berries etc. Theres not much chance of them depleting an area really, we only do this kind of thing on one or two weekends a year. We have permission to use a local farmer's land for our...

i dont think i'd dare try it, last thing i'd want is to be smacked in the face by a bow arm when the string gave up
