    Drawstring Toggle Adjuster

Thanks Adz, I have seen some on eBay, but I didn't want to buy rubbish. The fleece is made by Aigle, which I thought was a good make, but the cord locks are poor. I guess for the price I will take a chance. Cheers. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Stormy Creek Altitude versus Snugpak Sleeka

Hello all, I quite like the look of the Stoney Creek Altitude jacket, with Primaloft insulation. I have had a rather garish jacket from Montane in the past with Primaloft insulation, and it was very good. I am looking to get either one of the Stoney Creek jackets or something from the...

    Surplus Goretex Jacket Sources

Hello all, I am looking to get a surplus goretex jacket as a lighter weight waterproof jacket now we are into warmer weather. I have had a bad experience with a used ECWCS jacket I purchased which leaked after 10 minutes in light rain. At £75 for what I was lead to believe was the "Rolls...

    Forces Rucksack Size

I am looking to replace my old 35 litre rucksack with a larger one possibly a Forces one. 2questions: 1. What size should I be looking at for typical 10 mile per day hikes with an overnight stay? 2. Are Forces rucksacks any good or should I be looking elsewhere for sacks of the same...

    Carrying Arktis Smock

Was out on Dartmoor on Saturday and when my lad and I left the house it was freezing. By the time we had got to Fur Tor, the weather was roasting. I was wearing an Arktis Smock with base layer and 100 weight fleece. My day sack was full with no room for the smock. On the way back over real bad...

High leg boots - Suggestions please.

I have a pair of Lowa Combat GTX from RVOps. http://www.rvops.co.uk/lowa-combat-boots-gtx-507.html Good price for a fantastic boot. Straight out of the box, did a day's beating and they were like wearing slippers. No blisters or discomfort. I would recommend these boots.

    Meindl Borneo boots.

I've had two pairs of Meindl footwear. Respond GTX shoes and Revolite boots. I feel as though the soles on the shoes have worn very quickly compared to an old pair of adidas trainers i had, and both were worn over the same time period/distance. The meindls are very comfortable, superbly made...

    Arktis Smock

Thanks for the replies. Not too sure though on whether to go for one. Like the look of the jackets on Solo International website. It is important that the jacket is waterproof as Dartmoor is fairly exposed and when it rains it rains. Will check out the Buffalo options. Thanks.

    Arktis Smock

Thinking about getting an Arktis Smock. Expensive though. Anyone got any comments on it as a good outdoors jacket for moors/ woodland use. Is there anything similar that members would recommend please? Thanks.

    Newbie Jacket Recommendation

Thanks chaps. I didn't think of a waxed jacket, but will have a look and see. Was thinking more of a Hunting jacket or military jacket but waxed jacket sounds good.
