is there anyone who can assist ion ID a mushroom from photos?

i found this loverly little chappy on a verge near my home with about a dozen others all the same, so evidently part of the same fungal system, but i am loath to risk eating it untill i have had the ID confirmed (i have a suspicion but will keep that to me)

Really not sure what it is mate - would need more information about where you found it growing ie with a particular tree near the verge etc.
From the pics i can't tell you what it might be but I am generally familiar enough with most of the main edibles we have to have a stab at id-ing - afraid to say I don't think it's an eater.
There's a sticky thread called the ultimate 'what is this fungi' thread that you might like. If you post on that you'll probably get bettter help too.

There's a thread under flora and fauna for identifying mushrooms.

These are one of the large milkcaps. Looks like Lactarius vellereus.
