Looking for a location around Oxford

Hi all,

I'm looking for a spot reasonably close to Oxford (within say 10 miles) to take a few people out for an overnight. It's their first time out & sleeping in hammocks - I'd also like to be able to cook on a discreet fire if it's practical.

Can anyone suggest a spot or mind sharing somewhere they've used in the past?

I know of some woods round Bicester, but they are on MOD land, not sure how you'd get on. Also a Woodland trust wood near Bullingdon prison.

Hi Paul, yeah that's the one at Piddington.

The areas are near the depot at Bicester, and although not all training areas, they can be a bit funny about using them. The biggest area looks like the one on top by St George's Bks, at the moment there are not many people in St David's Bks and there is an area on top there at Graven Hill. It's in the middle of being sold off, if not already sold off.

It's hard locally best thing is to go and find a piece of woodland that isn't used for shooting and then contact the owner
