This MUST have been asked before, but I can't find anything on the search

I'm in the market for a tarp. DD , Tenthwonder, Tatonka whoever.

Would you guys consider a 3x3 tarp big enough for two people*?

I don't like the idea of going too big and ending up with a aircraft hanger and would much prefer something in the Goldilocks zone.

Hit me with your experiences, you sagely bunch!

*edited to add this would be for 1 night (2 at the MAX). We're not talking a week (where a tent would probably be more suitable)

3x3 in a hammock is good unless it is hammering it down, at which point you might think of getting a bigger one. I have a DD 3x3 but got a Tatonka 4.5x4.25 for longer base camps or whn it is likely to rain a lot while car camping.

Its plenty big enough when the weather isn't too bad IMO

I sewed ripstop doors to it. Its now huuuuuge for 2 people as all the space is now usable and its kept me happy and dry in some hefty weather since.

I have one but never get the chance to put it up because it's too big to put anywhere in my area.

I usually use the DD poncho which is 1.5 by 2.7 when it's been chucking it down and not had any problems.

It's more a case of having the knowledge to know at what angle wind and rain will come from than how big it is.

If your on about hammocks then i have no clue.
