new watch

I'm looking to treat myself and "upgrade" from my Timex explore watches to some thing a bit more upmarket - not that up market though.

I'm looking for something:
* around £150
* fabric leather strap - my wrist are just to small for metal bracelets
* water proof - 30m / 3ATM more than enough
* good luminosity
* must have luminous second hand
* not excessively massive

I'm happy to look at decent 2nd as well.

So far the Traser Code blue and Citizen Ecodrive Pro Diver have taken my interest.

I do like the idea of an eco drive / wind up rather than battery powered.

Any suggestions.

I'm also looking to get my faithful old 1970s Vostok re-lumed.

Some interesting watches but the Wenger Commando seems to be the only one with luminous second had without breaking the bank.

There are a few companies that do it. It'll cost a lot more than I paid for the watch but I just like the style and a propery wind up mechanism.

You'd get a lovely Seiko Divers Automatic for that money, very robust, looks fab.

Or you could go for a Nite MX-10.

That's what I have- and absolutely love it. It's been battered on my wrist for the last 3 years and looks immaculate still. It has a fairly robust and outdoorsy appearance, but is smart (and 'unfiddely') enough to wear with a suit in the office. GTLS illumination makes it really easy to read, and I got great customer service from the Nite company. Love it!

I got given a casio waveceptor watch (was a metal bracelet though but I too have narrow wrists and it is easily coping with my wrist). It charges from the sun (tough solar = tough sapphire glass and solar powered) and the battery symbol has never strayed from completely full despite being up my shirt sleeve most of the week. It can pick up the atomic clock radio signals from Rugby and a place in Germany so the digi bit is always right, the hands bit is mostly right but sometimes needs a manual nudge to remember to correct itself. The date is right and it changes when the clocks go forward or back too. good to 200m static IIRC which means easily 50m non-static water pressures I think.

I am sure you can get strap based ones too. Might be worth it but your choice as casio is hardly a cool brand compared to Nite and others.

One more thing, I'm looking for a cheapo watch as I might be close to breaking my casio watch soon. It has lasted about 2.5 to 3.5 years so far which apart from other casio full digitals and my first ever watch which was a sekonda is a record. Well twice as long as any other brand (other than the ones I mentioned). I have had Tissot, accurist and rotary IIRC. All failed in about 1 year or so. I am death to all but the casios or cheap watches. That is why I need to start looking for a new watch now. I am due a broken watch soon. Any ideas for something cheap. I only need something with time, day, date and stopwatch facilities but NOT a dial based chrono. Could do without the stopwatch but would like an alarm but could do without the alarm too.

Sorry OP to ask for advice myself but I'm probably half your budget but could be your budget if something special got recommended to you.
