My Dr Who was William Hartnell. I remember seeing the very first episode. I also remember a few years later, while at college getting hold of an early video camera, holding it in front of the monitor and seeing the feedback effect being exactly the same as the opening sequence in Dr Who.
I also recognised all of the original poster's links except the white horses.

I also remember Watch with Mother, Bill and Ben, Andy Pandy, Muffin the mule (a sexual perversion these days) and all the other childerns' entertainment around in the 50's.

Obviously from my generation! William Harnell - the one and only doctor Who ! But he would not be popular these days -- too old! I also like the chap who played Dr Who in the first Dalek film - forget his name -did a lot of horror films.

And what about The Lone Ranger, the all time best boys' programme.

And Rawhide!

and the Watch with Mother that was on thursdays - Rag Tag and Bobtail.

Later on in my youth it was Thunderbirds, Fireball XL5, Stingray and the like.

Who remembers these?

Oh man, this brings back some memories;
William Hartnell was my first Dr Who as well.
I still sometimes get the "snowy white horses" theme tune running thru my head, sad I know, don't remember anything about the series apart from the tune.
What about "Rhubarb and Custard", "The Magic roundabout", " Vision On" and what was that Noel Edmonds Saturday show called?

He he "Joe 90"
