talktalk issues anyone?

for the whole of today I have found it impossible to use the internet through my normal network and have now resorted to using my mobile as a modem instead - its slower in normal circumstances but at the moment it at least works (see - I'm here!) - anyone else having similar issues?
 
Hmm - that kind of agrees with the masses of stuff I read online when I googled it earlier - I've never had the service I pay for anyway, so if this is the way its going to be they can shove it!
 
the help line had me taking the main phone port in the house apart
i called four times and each time i was asked to do the same after a while i lost patience with the scripted support and snapped
my parents (who were the bill payers and main users) are in their 60's and are to coin a phrase technoilliterate so heavens only knows what would of happened if they had been left to deal with it.
a lot of my friends on talk talk are no longer on talk talk. says it all really
 
Time for a bit of market research then.....;)

EDIT: Talking of which - anyone got any recommendations (broadband/phone - not necessarily TV)?

Yup, pretty useless. If you start off your call to support with the following you can get through the the proper 2nd line support quickly.

YES i have changed the filter
YES i am using your router
NO there are no extension cables
YES i am plugged directly into the router
NO its not a problem with my computer.

unfortunatly every call centre will ask you the same questions no matter who you're with.
if you've exausted options with support and your local router/pc and everythings clear then have them perform a line test and see what you get.
