The makers mark is very important and can actually compliment or ruin a knife design. Choose a few and the fonts you will use and do some mockups with a poll for folks to vote for.

Take Alan Wood for example. I loved his old logo of deer and tree with his name simply signed to the right of it. He has recently changed it to modern lettering and no logo. I personally don't like it. The old version was much nicer.

Hm i cant deside wich is best. Kind of like the second one. Have Allan Wood made woodlores in RWL. I just finished this one for a friend in RWL-34. Have 3 more blades.

He wanted to finish the handle.

Hm maybe i should make a poll.

He makes Woodlore profile knives with his own stamp in RWL. All of the 'official' stamped Woodlores he supplies to Woodlore have to be specifically made in O1 with birdseye maple handles.

Oh i see, i didnt know that. Okey why is that, is it some patent or something.

I believe Ray Mears is very strict and the knives can only be bought through Woodlore with those specifications. Alan can't sell them direct as he is contracted to make them for Woodlore and they have Woodlores stamp on them. He can make his own in any material, but they cannot carry the Woodlore mark and logo on the blade.
