Norway Summer holiday ideas

I was going to post this on Sunday, but saw Shewie's thread about Norway Winter holiday ideas and didn't want to steal his thunder.

Sounds a very similar situation, Mrs Toadflax is happy to go to Norway this Summer but doesn't want to do any bushy stuff, and TBH isn't into long walks either - strolls are OK.

She wants to see Oslo, but also to go into the Artic Circle and see the midnight sun and has heard good things about the Lofoten Islands. I don't like the idea of a big ship cruise up the coast, but a night or two on a boat would be OK.

Some sort of organised trip would be nice, so that we don't have to do all the organising ourselves, but all I've found so far is cruises.

Any ideas would be welcome as she's nagging me to get it sorted.

Maybe have a look at the Hurtigruten boats?
If you don't want a cruise an organized trip would
probably mean a coach tour though! There are some wildlife and educational cruises now, where there are experts giving interesting lectures rather than bingo!

How about ....

a. LHR > Osl with Norwegian.no (Cheap as chips!)
b. Overnight .. Wine and dine the good lady ... win brownie points!!
c. Fly onto Kiruna the following day ... see a above
d. Visit the Ice hotel, go dog sledding, snowmobiling, fishing,(all date dependant) canoeing, river rafting, hunting, hiking, see Northern lights .....go shopping!! (More brownie points!)
e. Get the train to Narvik see: www.nsb.no - incredible journey/scenery and V. efficient service
f. Hire a car - Visit Polar Zoo - if you have kids ... or if the miss's like cute furry animals ... more Brownie points
g. From Narvik - Drive out to Senja - Norway's second largest Island - spectacular scenery or the Lofoten Islands
h. Return Narvik – more shopping/wine and dining ….even more Brownie points!!
i. Take a short cruise out of Narvik See: www.norway.com
j. Come back, get a bus or drive to Tromso see: www.nor-way.no
k. Fly home with Norwegian.no (Cheap as chips!)

or failing all that, take a look at these sites … .. Norway is awesome, you could do these trips Summer or Winter
