For many years now I have been using a PSK built around my Livesay NRGS neck knife. Yesterday afternoon I shot a short video showing the contents of the kit and explaining some of my reasoning for the items included as well as some tips on how to carry a necker.

This kit is intended to be a back-up to the items I normally carry on my person. Items get lost or forgotten enough that it is always good to have a self contained PSK to give an extra layer of security.

I like that, can I borrow it sometime?

Mac

That depends .
If you moonlight as a top of the line Song writer and record mixer , then yes i just require a modest 25% of all royalties once your track goes global.#

However if its just for personal use to drop into conversation and recieve strange looks , go ahead , fill your boots, I'll retain the UK territory, you can takeover Brazil.

I love the low profile nature of that kit, and the blade itself, the light idea I thought was great.

If I were to expand it a little, I would consider adding a few feet of snare wire, A mini 4 inch sharpening steel, and maybe a few fish hooks. Also another needle.

I would also consider changing the mirror, to a mirror polished cut down cabinet scraper, the sparks it throws are above and beyond need even if your frozen solid. But also it's advantages in wood scraping for fire starting tinder even with wet wood is quite extraordinary, try it and see.
The reflector idea for night signalling I love, and that tape can be put anywhere, I will steel that one day I reckon.

I also liked the fact that your video is very clear and well describes all the variable uses of most things. Nice job on two fronts.
I have subscribed and will be checking out more vids soon.

Thanks for subscribing and the input. One of the considerations in setting it up was weight, I try to keep it to a minimum. It also has to be compact. There's not a great deal of room and over the years I've tried all sorts of stuff. The way it is now seems to be close to final form for what I do though I'm always open to new ideas.

I gave food a very low priority in the this kit because food isn't a killer in a short term situation. I have another knife kit I carry often based on a BK-7 that is much more extensive and has both a fishing kit and snare wire. If I had to use the neck knife kit to feed myself I would most likely make several bird traps with the inner strands of the paracord and snares with the waxed line.

This kit is a back-up to the stuff I normally carry. I wanted it to help solve my most pressing problems. Mac

What sort of tasks is the knife good for? And where can I get one from in the uk?

Is the blade carbon or stainless

Cheers

That knife has not been made in many years, even before the original post. It is a carbon steel blade of 1095 with 3"+ of cutting edge. It's a thin blade with a full flat grind and will do all the things that a thin, pointy, 3" blade with a full flat grind will do. :)
