These are ok, i got a medium one last year when they had the half price sale then. The only gripe i had was the guys needed re-tieing. Apart from that it's great although i have only used it once. :D

I can't remember where now, but I heard a lot of horror stories about these tents, when I looked into getting one last year. If I remember rightly, leaking badly was the biggest problem.

Looks like getting a few tubes of seam sealer to do the windows, i reckon that would sort it out. thanks for that. :)

ive used mines at a few meets and never had a problem, its not been in heavy rain but has put up with a weekends drizzle and no probs.

for the price you cant complain. im going to drill the central pole so i can put a peg through it and hang a lantern is the only mod i will make.

I thought it was the Millets one that leaked :dunno:

these Argos ones seem to be popular though :)

cheers,
Toddy

I didn't know Millets did one, or was that the one that had flowers or something printed on it.

For £40 Toddy you can't turn your nose up for a 4 man tent. They are ideal for 2 with gear and there's still plenty of room. Camp beds would be better in it being that's it's single skin so prone to the dreaded condensation and draughts although saying that the weekend i spent in it i did not get any draughts blowing under the tent. I would like to see it in an open field as this would test the tent better than pitched in woodland as was mine.
I'll do a test sometime this year and post the results if i get chance.

the tent was the 4 man version.
i used it for a very blustery weekend around richmond, north yorkshire.
the tent was able to withstand windy conditions that broke the poles of two v*%ng* tents next to us.
even the sight owner commented on how well the tipi coped.
but as soon as the rain came the tipi failed.
i had proofed it with fabsil prior to this initial use and new the fabric would be fine.
the problem was the stiching around the window areas which leaked badly, imagine the sill area and i suspect other areas may have leaked if the stiching ran parallel to the ground across the natural apex of the tipi triangle.
i do intend to make a silicon slick to try and seal the holes as i was impressed with the room the tipi offered as well as the fun factor it had with the kids.
would i buy another? probabily not.
