Hi Guys
Just a reminder about the field archery day, now you are all starting to make your plans for the Easter period. Hope some of you are still up for it.
Just to remind you, it's a free field archery have-a-go session held at Whitefriars Bowmen in Dunwich Forest. Saturday 18th 10 - 4.
The club has a beautiful course in 50 acres of Forestry Commission land, and is looking for new members interested in the sport. You could shoot for a while, check out the course, and then have a bimble in Dunwich forest.
Anyone who is interested in coming along PM me for directions etc.
Look forward to hopefully meeting some of you then.

are you sure?:( shame mate, you are a bit of a artist when it comes to bows and shooting them!
cool that sounds great i should be able to make any tuesday
what goodies should i bring?

also i am going to get a bush cooker with wind shield so i may get it in time for that day if im invited of coarse
sorry i missed this post.

We're going to a public site so no big knives/axes please.
It's a huge area called Mousehold heath in Norwich city, I'm sure small wood burning cookers are fine as long as they are under control.
I'll bring my Parachute too so we can have a play!;)
sounds silly but bring a Hi-visibility vest for when we use the cookers (if you wear it passers by won't ask questions and will assume you are council workers)

Ahhh, the HiVis gambit. Very cunning and almost always works.
Actually a very handy bit of kit to stick in your pack to haul out if you find yourself walking country lanes after dark.

will be fine just removing the Tesco badge

Yeah you don't want to mix work with pleasure! legally or any other way I've tried it before and it's difficult;)
you certainly don't want "Tesco" or "Bushcraft" negatively in the local headlines together!
It's more than our jobs are worth!
"Unknown workers seen in woods" (without Logos) Is much better :lmao:

You can buy a Hi-Vis jacket from poundland for...erm... £1:eek:

2 more MOD issue Tarps/Basha's/Hootch's

 eh, 2 more?
how many do you already have?
what are you going to build? what ever it is it'll be huge!:lmao:

(saying that i have 1 DPM/1 Desert DPM Mod tarp, 4 canvas tarps, another small DPM tarp, a German poncho, a British WW1 cape/groundsheet ;) and a Parachute )

Can't wait to see the kit mate, you've done well!

We might not be good at Bushcraft but we love shiney new kit!:D

(I was joking about the Tesco's badge);)
It's weird but, when I've done legitimate work for conservation groups cutting down trees branches etc, no ones ever stopped me to ask if i should be there.

just the other day i was with a group doing legitimate work, but there were two "common" looking women joining in, both wearing gloves hard hats etc. they were the only people that were asked of their purpose! :( sad but true!

well got the package and its missing the dpm desert tarp but now i have two woodland dpm tarps 1 the real deal the other just an imitation that costs as much ? oh well the imitation tarp/basha i have is slightly better due to the fact its lighter and is the same size but can fit into a 1 litre stuff sack where as the real deal can't

looking forward to that tuesday got a week off in the first week of april any 1 want to meet?

 sounds like it might be a meet!

btw tomorrow im posting 2 weeks worth of random camp shots
It might be worth posting them in the "out and about" section, otherwise many photos can slow down peoples PC's if they don't have Broadband etc. certainly feel free to post a few!

Tried making Large "walk-in"tarp shelter with tent poles in a local park Mod Tarps were fine and worked well.

the Huge Canvas tarp I made (from 4 grondsheets didn't do so well the pure weight of it was too much for it's holes, and it ripped through one of the corners.:( I chose a windy day on purpose to test this sort of problem.;)

I guess best to find out these things before you need them!

Hi

Just for the sake of making noise and some interest in the items....
What price the Sleeping bag?
What size the Parka? Just seen the parka size and I don't think it would fit unless you left off an X.
