Photo Challenge Idea

I was looking at the fantastic sunset shots on another thread and wondered why there isn't a monthly photo challenge for all the budding photographers on BCUK.

It could work like this;

- every month a new topic is set, for instance wild animals/ shelter/ bushcraft food.

- the challenge could run for the month and the best image(s) could then be published in the BCUK magazine.

With all the talent out there it would surely result in some brilliant photos

What do you think?

best run it by Tony though and if the idea of the winner being in the mag is not possible being on the 'Home' page for the month is a fair alternitive in my oppinion.

I'm no David Baily but would enter the odd photo I guess.

anyway even if it is not official then lets run it for fun anyway

I agree it's a good idea, also all the other members here get to see wonderful pics of various scenes / objects. As the saying goes "a picture paints a thousand words".

Excellent idea - Would act as an incentive to increase both my photography skills and bushcraft skills all at once.

Great idea - reminds me of the monthly scavenger hunts they have on Flickr but the
topics are a bit obtuse and people are encouraged to be creative in their interpretation
of them. But I'm quite happy to see pictures of trees and the like - just straightforward
trees, and other things we choose to photograph

Good idea, that will allow us tog et some good seasonal pictures...

Overall I think it's a good idea and I'm up for it happening.

How about we go for the Wild foods, it's summer so there should be a lot of variety.

Only one thing id like to add

Im guessing a lot of photographers will have an existing stock of pics so how about something in the pic that we all have access too.. something everyday that proves you actually had to go hunting for that subject.

Only a suggestion.....

Only a suggestion.....

I'm personally not bothered if an entry is 'from stock' so long as it is the posters own work as it would be a shame to discount someones previous work if it fits the bill for the subject?

Either way I think it's a great idea.

I see both sides, on the one hand it's great if they're fresh pictures that show the world in the now, what the weather's like, colours, what's about etc on the other some people have fantastic pictures that we'd miss out on.

I think we leave it for now and if it gets silly we'll tweak things a bit for the next one
