Work Boots

Just had to say goodbye to another pair of work boots. So, need a replacement.

I usually opt for a pair of Caterpillars, tend to last a year or two. I was looking at a pair of Scruffs which seem pretty well reviewed. Anyway, thought I'd ask around here for a recommendation first.

So, got any recommendations for a decent pair of work boots?

Elastic sides aren’t for everyone but I have a pair of V12s which have done the best part of a decade of daily duty on the farm. Recommend them highly for durability.

I used to wear haix boots which are excellent if a little heavy.
Best boots that I have ever had were a pair of doc marten safety boots (totally different to normal docs which I can't stand) which lasted several years and were super comfy.
Of course this means that they were discontinued 5 years ago

I did give a pair of (I think) site fabric/suede work boots a go once, they accidentally fell into a skip after a few weeks.....

1- it depends on what type of work you are doing/ground you are working on

grafters rigger boots . steel toe cap , steel mid sole. I put on a brand new pair and felt like i had worn them for years 18 months later they are still immaculate and they do some pretty heavy work and labour. I like them cos they slide on and off easy. recommended x

I like my lace-up De Walt steelies that I bought from Screwfix. Bought on a recommendation from a friend who bought some of the strech sided ones from Screwfix.

Composite toecap and midsole protection are lighter and your feet don't get as cold in winter.....

I have a couple of pairs of Cat safety boots for work: a heavy duty pair for ballast yomping (do rather less of that these days thankfully ) and a lighter smarter pair more suited to auditing on depots and such like... my sector requries lace up ankle-supporting boots with toe and midsole protection, which tends to limit choice to some extent.

Good work boots are linked to what you need- I once had a pair of thermal and goretex lined riggers (Cofra/Gullveig was the brand/model) with composite toe/midsole for a particular project I was on, boy they were marvellous on a wet muddy site in winter and incredibly comfortable. Lasted a long while too, worth every penny the company paid for them IMO.
