I've been using a GSI over the cup coffee filter for years now, it's getting a bit tired now and looking for an alternative, any suggestions gratefully received.

French press.
I skip #2 and start from #3.

I use a Xylis cup for a quick coffee - it’s a cafetière (French press) in a mug.

If there is time I use a Bialetti.

There is always enough time to avoid instant.

Thanks folks, like the Moka pot.
My particular Bialetti (above ) is a little three cup on a small stick stove. I’ve removed the handle and filed a couple of mm from the lip to make it symmetrical. It still pours fine but now it packs beautifully. Universal pot grippers are my pack away multi-use handle.

I have been using an Aeropress for a few years, If it's just coffee for one, Probably done over a thousand cups so far and it is still in perfect condition. so Im impressed with its longevity brings the price per cup down as well. Coupled with a GSI grinder.

I've an old GSI Java Press. Don't think it's made anymore so :( May still find one. Great wee thing though, enough for one, all breaks down and nests together. I did a review over on Song of the Paddle but some photos here.

My collection of french presses.
The one in the front right is the one I use the most. If my girfriend is staying at my place I use the front left one.

PS. How much coffee does an aeropress make? I am used to drinking 3-4dl in the morning.

Just looked up Aeropress. Never seen one before. What’s the fuss about?
Isn’t it just an expensive upside down, somewhat complicated cafetière.

What’s the difference between that and any other cafetière?

My Xylis is just two components, one of which is the mug and it’s a simple cafetière. (OK it’s got a lid somewhere if I could find it)

It’s not a big capacity but it’s so quick and simple that I can fill it twice without any problem.
Most important - it makes good coffee!!!!

Edited to add:
I’ve just looked up a link and found THIS.
It should be in the “I’ve found a bargain” thread.
I’ve just ordered two more.

Edited again. Payment failed. Better check site before paying. It is VERY cheap for a Xylis.

Edited yet again:
Order gone through.
Two new Xylis in transit.
£15 for Two Inc. postage! No brainier.
