My IT expert friend says he stays away from AI.
I totaly agree. There are too many people who have no discernment. I once had a drubbing from someone who had read something in the daily mail, and was totaly convinced the article was true...because it was in the newspaper. I cannot remember now what it was as it was 20 yrs ago..my how time flies... but even though I was able to prove the article wrong on many counts, they still refused to believe me. No ability to discern fact from fiction.
Jeff Taylor on yt has been doing a few vids on ai, and I found it worrying how ai had stroked the ego of the chap he was interviewing. I can see it.
Now, the interviewee was asking about the existence of God, and he got the answer that God is real. Well I'm sure he was seeking affirmative answers and ai gave him the answer he wanted.
I'm not going to say it was the right or wrong answer, I don't need ai or scientific proof for or against, for that sort of question, it was the ego stroking that set me on edge.
Personaly, I'd like to see someone try and get the opposite answer, that would tell us a great deal about ai.
I believe its a manipulation tool. At first it's benign, but eventualy, it will be used for other ends, once trust has been established. You won't see the transition, and will be totaly reliant on it for everything...look at the Internet and how that has invaded every aspect of modern life. Without it, most of society can't function.
Steer well away!
I don't know how to link videos on yt, but have a look for yourself. See if you get the same feeling. I couldn't watch the whole thing, I just got realy creepy vibes from it. I notice there is a new vid out today. I may watch it later to see what hes got to say, but i think ive already decided what i think.
