Sorry! This irritates me. If the present or other situation flares into conflict, a tin full of gadgets and tools isn’t going to help

but

Talking about it does sell tins full of gadgets and tools.

It depends on the nature of the conflict

when covid happened, an shelves empty of a lot of food, people that releid on processed food suddenly had problems....if you have a stock of ingredients youre less relyinging on shop shelves.

Conflicts can cause supply issues

So the mentality/psychology of maining a PSK, can be extraploated to a way of thinking to not be reliant on the supply chain so much........

Lots of people got in to prepping after covid.....

But UK urban conflicts, FAK, n95 masks, different to whats in a normal PSK.....

Yes, these skills are valuable in a conflict situation. But I doubt that papa Ray was talking about a tinfull of crap.
No that’s true.
I just meant it as a bit of a tongue in cheek way of giving an instance where there might be a need for a PSK over here.

Pretty sure if he could stamp his company trademark on it , sale it for 10 times its normal cost and saw a viable hungry market for it he'd be after it like a greyhound on a hare.

He does charge like a wounded Rhino it has to be said.
I remember seeing some knife he endorsed by Wilkinson Sword being offered at £600 plus.

I have no problem with him milking it and making Hay when his particular sunshines.

Good for him.

And the only person that can control ones spending is the Man in the mirror ( Hee-Hee!! ) - so personal accountability attempt to not being influenced.

My main point was that things have their time. And are often resurrected with a flair of marketing.

I remember the survival tobacco tin first with names like Lofty and Eddie McGee.

Then seeing BCB jump on the bandwagon and sell a load- followed by everyother man and their Uncle.

I''m sure if Uncle Ray did some 'back to basics' sales based documentaries where is knocks up a Robinson Crusoesque home , 5 course dinner and water coloured self portrait all from the small metal tin in his trouser pocket - he could , he would and he would make a pretty penny as newbies would buy it , fanboys would buy it and many of us would buy it purely as an act of nostalgic consumerism.
