That’s strange, because I would say that without the second slice of bread, those sandwiches are unfinnished…

I’ll get my coat.

Seriously though, does it count when ‘sandwich’ means to insert something between two other things? Another debate, I feel!

The dandy in me wonders if a sandwich without a top deck tastes any different on the taste buds?

Apart from the usual suspects, my top three would have to be 1. rare roast venison on fresh crusty white with cranberry jelly & a schmear of cream cheese.
2. Amalfi lemon sliced very thinly with skin intact on fresh buttered dark treacly wholemeal bread, also cut thin.
3. Sliced banana and Old Gouda ( black wax ) cheese on buttered malted light rye bread with caraway.

Cream cheese and smoked salmon in a plain bagel.

Humous, crisp lettuce, and sliced tomato in a pitta pocket. Sometimes I'll add a couple of crumbled up falafels for extra goodness.

Quick bite, ...peanut butter , and chocolate hazelnut spread, if I've got one, I'll add sliced bananas too.

Either cheese and onion, or beef and onion for me. But the onion has to be my homemade thinly sliced red pickled onions

I honestly prefer good bread just with a shallow bowl with good olive oil and balsamic vinegar, but he did ask for sandwiches :)
Yep, can't go wrong with that Mary. Fresh baked rolls, still warm, Spanish extra virgin olive oil (the best imo) and some aged balsamic... Food of the gods.

Is a butty a sandwich? A butty has hot food in it, a sarnie has cold...I know i know, semantics lol :)
…… and your point is ………?

…….. unless you eat cold chip butties

Is a butty a sandwich - yes in today’s parlance.
Your distinction is new to me and a bit awkward to differentiate warm cheese butties and hot bacon sandwiches :)

Edited because emoticon failed.

Absolutely love a BLT - hold the lettuce and tomatoes. Maybe stick it in the microwave.

Second page and no mention of the BLT? It's the one sandwich that no pub, sandwich bar or even supermarket can ruin. Bacon, lettuce and tomato can look after itself!
I guess I am too old for this I always confuse these acronyms, what is an LBQT+ sandwich?
