Anyone working out more during this period of staying at home?

We're doing the Joe Wicks PE workouts and they're good, especially for help motivating the younger ones. Anyone else doing it?

If you're doing something else let us know what you're doing.

Yesterday we got our little gym area in the garage sorted after being flooded in Feb, had to wait an age for rubber mats to arrive, they're all down now so we can start using that again... Looking forward to it.

Thorin, my 21 year old is P90x/P90x3 and Yoga, Shelly (wife) Yoga, P90x3 and other online workouts (there's a few that have waved fees for a month so she's taking advantage of some different stuff)

What are you up to?

I am trying to get off all the aches developed during the winter training season and just doing some light training and streching. Felling and chopping firewood of course.

I've got a few dumbbells and kettlebells but they're all too heavy or too light for exercises I want to do / know about. I'm limited to certain exercises when I can be bothered and can fit it in. I looked at getting some resistance to u by es / bands but Argos is now my only be source and theyb sold out before lockdown when I first looked into it. I dithered, others didn't.

I'm not a joiner in so online dancerthons with the latest fashionable trainer never appealed from a kid with an breakfast TV green Goddess or Mr motivator types to Joe Wick. I miss my old gym with its freedom trainer. A one cable pulley machine that truly worked out most of your body in a way b that engages deeper and supporting muscles. I set it up to simulate kayaking actions so it strengthened shoulders through to legs especially your core muscles. Jeez that got my pulse sky rocketing! All shutdown before the virus for financial reasons?

I'm walking or cycling for an hour. Not vigorous but enough for health! I'm thinking fitness comes after we're allowed out into the hills again.

Looked and most of them had may delivery. Not essential perhaps so delayed delivery by Amazon? Maybe changed now and more come back in to stock. Might take a look. TBH it might be of more use to find new exercises online.

To be honest, I find resistance band exercises to be the most fiddly to get set up right. Don’t take up much space on the cupboard though and are good for making big catapults later.

I just use some Aldi dumbbells that I use in my morning routine - and I do curls and leg lifts anytime I am watching TV ... I guess about another hour per day - I am no couch potato! :)

For me it's the garden. Must have sweated off a couple of pounds putting up my bubble dome greenhouse this afternoon, dug some more beds out of the rough wild area for peas and beans.
Eating salads and not much else.

On a serious note - my go-to fitness regime since the eighties has been the one defined in the 'Royal Marines and Commandos Fitness and Survival Skills' book. It doesn't require any equipment and is scaled for age and your starting level of fitness. That, and running, was my only 'keep fit' between rugby seasons and it worked well. Though, I have to say, by modern rugby standards, we were not fit :)
