Braided green band / rope on binoculars

Good evening and merry Christmas to you and your familys my friends.

I’ve got a book for Christmas in which a green braided band for carrying binoculars around the neck is shown.
I saw the same in the Shows from mr. Ray Mears.

Does anyone know exactly what kind of rope / band is used and what braiding technique is used to attach it on the small slits on the binocular?

The most common one I’ve seen on bino’s is the cobra stitch most commonly used in the Para cord bracelets.

That looks to be a 3 or 4 strand plait/braid, pretty easy to make. The cobra knot suggested above might be a better option as it's flat not round. Cord type is going to be dependant on the width of the strap slits.

I'd reckon a piece of webbing would be a better bet.

The braid in the picture is too flat for it to be string or paracord with the core still in it

Well, waddya know!
Clearly I wasn't the only one who thought of doing that. Though I did mine about three years ago, don't know how long he did his. But if I did mine first then Ray copied me!

Anyway. I used paracord (not the genuine stuff) with a simple 3-strand right-over-middle-left-over-middle braid:
