I think that I'll try for an interlibrary loan first.
I'm curious to learn if his boreal forest experience matches what he might learn in the far larger Canadian boreal forest.

I assumed the book was on Canada, otherwise Russia maybe? Which i believe is twice the size?

Maybe got the wires crossed. I read that his was a Scandanavian experience.
Anybody know for sure?

Reading that Ray Mears _and_ Lars Falt are the authors. All they mention is "circumpolar" boreal forest.
Maybe the Canadian and Russian experiences are featured?

Russian boreal forest, especially the Russian Far East, is really strange = deciduous Larix (Larch/Tamarack) tree cover.
Should be L. sibirica = L. russica or maybe L. gmelinii.
We've got patches of it but many other conifer species prevail.

Got it at a signing and talk session last Thursday. Well worth the £25 (including an hour talk by RM in Ely Cathedral) IMHO. I also waited for the crowd to disperse (an hour signing session as it happens) and had a quite nice chat with him about disabled bushcraft. Very honest and upset loads as he says it as he believes it.

It is set in the Boreal Forest (didn't know there were so many different Sammi groups with different lifestyles) and is back to basic stuff like knife grips, firesticks, firelays, etc. It has loads of pics taken by RM over his travels and I love it as it brings together loads of important info that is scattered in other books

Me and my lad had a good few minutes with him. I wanted my lad to get the most out of the experience, so although standing with him. I let my lad lead the conversation. I think he was a little shy at first. Ray engaged well and soon was asking me about how my lad got his name of all things. I've not really looked at the book yet, as my lad wants it for Christmas Day.

Well I put Ray Mears new book on my Christmas list and he delivered! actually it was a She that delivered as it was my Son and his girlfriend who's name is SANTA and that's the honest truth!

Think 'Bushcraft' without the jungle-y and African bits but a lot more snow and ice.

That's pretty much how I am finding it. It's a good book and a welcome addition to my library.

I found most of the RM books quite interesting, looking forward to reading this one too
