Ah!! Secrets of the trade I used the same piece of steel that is used to do the blade Found a really old piece of rusted plate. Cleaned off all the rust with a wire brush. Cut it into sections. Welded it up onto bar stock for my press and used that to texture the blade (that was a 4 hour process all by itself). I then took a bolt and heated it up to yellow with the cutting torch and using a piece of thick wall tubing smacked it onto the rusty texture jig I made and there we have a new stamp for leather work. You have to round of the stamp edges or it leaves ugly marks.
