Hello, just testing the water to see if there are any bushcrafters out there who have arctic experence and would like to go on a big trip at the begining of 2015,to the northern forest for about one week. It will be about minus 15 to minus 50. Like i said it just to see if theres any interest. If there is there may well be a big trip but that is up to all of use to make it happen what do you say TEAM :) ...

Is that a promise mate? :)

I'm not planning anything this year til autumn. The pain of the heatwave is still fresh.

Quite fancy a winter crossing of a NP this time over a few weeks so I'll probably not fit in with anything anyway.

Me!

Experience is
4 trips (usually end of Jan/early feb) to Levi for mushing and back country cross country skiing.
temps -25c to -47c
Extensive solo alpine winter bushcrafting (no tent, usually no sleeping bag and no sleeping mat)
Temps usually -10/-15c but down to -25/30c quite often - usual blizzards and other hoopla...
Backcountry xc skiing (including pulk and multi-day solo trips)
25 year mountaineering experience (mostly alpine but also scottish winter)
KIMM finisher 6 times

Generally Self-sufficient.
Excellent "Get-up-first-to-light-fire-and-make-coffee" credentials.

Have Jerven Bag, will travel.

Would you have me along?

Haha Inari. Yes. Though they are quite close together. (Ivalo is the airport I think)

Ivalo; home of the arctic supermarket. I've never seen so many in a small place. The shelves are stacked with knives, pulks, ice augers alongside the reindeer meat, cheese bread and other food. Magic. :)
Yes, the airport is just south of Ivalo.
