Hello!

I used search but couldnt find similiar thread so decided to start one. If there allready excists one i hope this will be removed.

OK so bear is my favourite wild animal as you can see from my avatar. I know you dont have bears in UK but if you got any cool information about bears or have met one on trips this is the place to tell about it!

I live in Finland and we have 1330–1445 (over 1 year old bears) according to Finnish Game and Fisheries research institute(2012). Bear population is strongest in Eeast-Finland and Lappland but they are also met in Western and Southern-Finland.

I havent met one in my life, they pretty much try to avoid humans.

When I was in Finland we saw plenty of signs of bear, and heard one fairly near by, sadly didn't see one though.

In hiking around here on this side of the pond I will fairly often see black bears - probably have seen over 100 in the last few years - especially like seeing the cubs.

Saw quite a few bears in Canada this summer and a few weeks ago my bro in law filmed one in his garden eating berries then looking in the bin before walking out the gate, love seeing them in the wild
