Hi folks.

I haven't been on here for a long time, so first of all hi and how are you all doing?

With Toddy's permission I'd like to suggest a meet at this location:

www.youthvisionscotland.co.uk

This wee charity is restoring the croft between Threipmuir and Harlaw reservoirs near Balerno. They offer bushcraft courses to kids and adults amongst other events. I work with them on Fridays as a 'garden coordinator' and I'm tasked with developing a community garden on the site.

I realise that there is a meet being arranged in October, I'd like to suggest another South Scotland meet at this location in the spring. It'd be a great place for skill sharing and perhaps you could help them/ us with a wee bit of bushcraft related graft?

Personally, I've been busy with my own young kids over the past few years and I'd like to use this as a means of introducing the older one to real outdoor life and getting back in touch with you all.

Warm Regards,

Rob.

Hi Rob. I'd be interested in a meet here. Not sure my teens would come but Tricia n I could bring Chaos n Mayhem along (they are 6). I tried to access we page it got access denied. Can you drive up frae Flotterstone or is access frae Balerno?

Oh...wow. This is the first Bushcraft meet I've seen in my area since I joined this forum many months ago. Is this still on?

I'm in the East Lothian area, so just in case this isn't on anymore, I'd like to suggest that anyone who lives around this area can PM me if they'd wish. I've never been to a meet before or had a bimble with likeminded Bushcrafters before.

So this is happening in a few months time then, in spring?

I guess I can go down to Wooplaw for the big meet and then attend the Pentlands. I've been on this forum for 9 months, so I guess I should probably start meeting people in real life, eh?

Sabot,

They approached me about joining them the other year when I was doing the farmer's market for Edinburgh Cyrenians in Balerno.

They used to have a stall there, so perhaps you should pop along and see? A bit out of the way for me at the time so I declined.

Sabot, I organise the gardening group on Fridays, you could come along with me if you like. :)

If you cant make Fridays, there are plenty other opportunities to get stuck in.

I'm certainly interested. I'm just putting two and two together and might actually have met Toddy with a group at Wooplaw for our green woodworking weekend.

Rgds,

James

Hi Folks I'm now beginning to plan this in earnest. We can have the site for a Saturday and Sunday any weekend in March but I'm aiming for the last weekend (29th and 30th) if that suits? There may be some of the service users of the charity around on the Saturday and that's when I'd like some help with the garden (pretty please). The Saturday night and the whole of the Sunday will be all yours. Some folk will be able to stay until Monday morning if wanted or needed.

There's firepits, plenty firewood, ample space for tents but not much for hammocks. If you're really keen to swing in the trees there's enough woodland nearby to satisfy. There's also a couple of rough and ready buildings and a long drop toilet. It's beautiful spot on a good day and ideal for a bcuk meet.

Please contact me by pm and let me know on this thread if your definitely interested.

Regards

Rob
