Lovely, I got a load of Blackberries and a couple of pounds of Sloes on Sunday afternoon, hoping to get some Haws tomorrow/Friday

haws are really high in pectin like substance, personally i wouldn't waste time trying to do anything alcholic with them.

A Rosehip licqueur might be worth it.

I know, but i found an old recipe in a book and it's just begging to be tried, the resulting drink apparently has an aniseed flavour and as a cheap bottle of brandy is less than a tenner it has to be worth a try.:)

I tried Rose Hip gin & vodka before and thought it was pretty bland.

I've made about 4 liters of rose hip syrup this year so far, I was wondering about just adding a dash of it to a shot (large one that is!) of vodka. Has anyone tried this?

Well, I tried vodka and rose hip syrup over the weekend and have to say I couldn't really taste the rose hip over the vodka, so probably won't be using it as a mixer again.
