a pimped vulcan

i was asked after doing the other pack for this customer if i would pimp the whloe of his vulcan, because he was so pleased with what i done with his other one he bought the vulcan and dropped that round, this time he wanted more doing to his pack, so of i went to the workshop and got cracking, i have lines most areas, i have left the lid as this is elasticated and would detract from that if i had lined that with calf skin.
this was all done by hand with an awl and needle and thread
i hope you like it.

Nice work Lee but that pack needs some serious field use.......way too shiney..

I've thought about using leather straps with side release buckles instead of the usual webbing recently but was a bit worried that the non sewn ends would slip out....you can't pull them tight either as with webbing.

Looks prime Lee, lovely stuff I really love that hybrid between textile and leather, plus I think it really helps protecting the pack against some wear.
Marvelous job Lee would fancy one myself but lord o lord do I need to get myself a new investor ^^
