Thinking of treating myself to a nice new neck knife and wondered if anyone had any suggestions? Would prefer fixed blade (not essential though) and traditional looking rather than being all black and tactical looking :-)
if it happens to come with a sheath so much the better :-)

Cheers!!

this is a small Buck knife i carry as a necker, small, strong and holds a great edge,

I have a lovely necker from Rob Evans of this Parish, is a great user.

Taken a back seat since I acquired a Bark River Mini Canadian. That is a very cool little blade which despite being very compact really punches above its weight.

I alternate between a couple:
First is a necker made by driftwoodwalker (who is on here) - O1 Tool steel, wide variety of handle choices, very reasonable price (

The second was a bit more pricey. I bought it from someone on here. Its a bison bushcraft bushmans pal in 154cm steel

Marc how you getting on with the Bark river mini. Keep thinking about one for myself. At the moment i have a Robevs knecker and its a wick little thing, really easy to use and wicked sharp.

For me, a neck knife has to be lightweight. I think this carver from Japan Woodworker makes a great necker. Mighty fine little bird and trout knife too. :)

Love it! Really is the business for what I want in a small blade, wicked sharp, good grind and sits well in my massive hands! Sheath is ambidextrous (lefty) so really nothing not to like for me!

Drop me a line if you are getting one from overseas, fancy another barky and Mrs B like the Mini Canadian so we could share shipping and I might know a man!

I'm a big fan of the kephart style so i've one of these on the way

Thanks for the replies!! The wm1 and bushman pal are the sort of thing im looking for but way too expensive for me at the moment :-( the mora looks good as well but they seem like gold dust?
Any cheaper options?

Have a look at:-

Tom Krein pocket Bowie(great bang for your buck)Heinnie have them but they sell out straight away, hence out of stock at the moment.
Buck Hartshook neck knife(Quality S30V Steel)also at Heinnies.
Condor neck knife if you prefer carbon steel.
Boker Plus Fitz.
BK&T Becker Necker.
