Finished off a new eating spoon earlier,

DSCN2312.jpg

made from some Poplar that i was given by one of the local schools, lovely wood to work with.

Very nice once again.
When we did our spoon carving course with Robin Wood, up here at Chopwell, he supplied us with some lovely poplar logs as our base material.

smashing wood for hand carving spoons but we made a load of large tent pegs to start with too. Once dried, they proved to be surprisingly robust, much more durable than we expected.

cheers

Steve

NOT BAD Kepis. :lmao:
I came away from my walk with a piece of wild cherry, and a lump of birch that was as bent as a saxophone.
Guess what I'm trying to make with the birch, (think soup).

Excellent score mate, now lets see, would that be a ladle you will be making?
