Hello all :)

Right I know the Vintage Swedish uniform wont fit me to many kababs ;)

However if i get the largest size i can maybe cut and shut a wool jacket to fit :p

The old school sizes seem a bit confusing

Theres the number system 48 50 52 ,54, 100. 108 but some have letters as well i.e 108E , 100U can anyone explain the letters ?

Also seen the later C system C50 , C52 C54 seems to go up to C60 ( Big boys )

Lastly on the snow smocks I have seen a number system 1, 2 .3, 4 thats a C60 ( Big boys )

Its the letters on the very early system i would like to understand

thanks for your help

My M42 swedish wool jacket is very faded, but says 112 under the collar. I dont know what it stands for. I take a 44" chest. 36" waist. It fits me well.

I have seen them with the old system i.e 100U then as a lot was upgraded to the later spec it had the later size system sewn in C50 ,,,just to confuse us ..:lmao:

Later spec seems to be top packets on jackets and map pockets on trouser and some of the later ones are a darker colour

Run google translate at these two charts:

Not everything will be explained, but if you have a measuring tape
graded in centimeters you will be able to get a general idea of how
the system works and what sizes you require.

Please note the separate trouser sizes, for example 116D, which
means they are 114 cm around the waist and has a 80 cm
"inner leg length" from the groin to the ankle.

Bröstvidd - Breast width

Midjevidd - Waist width

Stussvidd - bottom width :p

Grenlängd - Groin to ankle lenght

:)

Internal pre-stone age size systems won't be explained...

Thanks for that Ivanhoe very helpfull ,

So it seems the letter after the number system on the early system is to do with hight i.e short /regular/tall ,

We just need to find out which is which , I have trousers with 114K is K long ? I also have a jacket on the way thats E108 so E ?

On the later C system theres also a C62 Thats handy to know .

Hmmmm

K would be Kort which is short in Swedish (L is Lång for Long)
The B, C, D, and E is general width. B is skinny, C normal, D wide and E extra wide with the number being the waist in centimetres.

Here is a conversion table to waist inches (in Swedish).
