    Blackbird building nest

Thanks for the comments, i had also wondered how and what was going on inside the nest and had never seen a bird building the actual shape of it. Was great to watch. It was filmed using a 7.2 samsung digital camera, nothing fancy just attached the camera a short distance from the nest and...

    Blackbird building nest

Well every year we get a few birds nesting in the garden, usually blackbirds and sparrows but this year there only seemed to be sparrows, turned out the blackbirds were just starting late and last week they started buidling there nests. I thought this year i'd set myself the challenge of trying...

    Bear Grylls

I think Bear get's a hard time on this forum, he's achieved more in his short life than probably anyone else on here and yet people just slag off his tv programmes, who cares what SAS he was in, he still made it there and i'm pretty sure that's beyond most peoples capabilities. He's still doing...

    Antler ideas

I was given these today from a friends parents who had them lying about in their shed, i've made firesteels before using antler but i'd like to try making something else now. Anybody got any ideas for what i could use them for? I fancy trying a bit of carving with one i think but wouldn't like...

    My Allotment

When i first moved to a flat i used to grow carrots in a bucket with a mixture of sand and compost and potatoes in a 25L drum. Now i have a small piece of ground and grow alot more, it's amazing how little room you need to grow your own crops.

    Webley Tracker air rifler

The power seems to be about 10ft/lb which is not bad, i've taken a couple of pigeons at about 30ft and it's been nice and quick so seems to have enough power. Might head out this weekend and see if i can get a couple of rabbits aswell. I haven't shot for a while but this little rifle seems...

    Thoughts On Mink

We have quite a few mink here aswell and theres been a few things on regional TV about how the local authority controls them, they seem to think an air pistol will do the trick once the mink has been trapped. I'm actually seeing more and more mink lying on the roads and i never used to. Not sure...

    My Allotment

As a gardener myself theres nothing better looking than a big patch of land ready to be planted up or sown with seeds. Looks like you've put alot of work into that Bernie, i hope you reap the fruits of your labour. Keep us posted with what's going on.

That is an amazing thing to get your son, he looks really content sitting there aswell. Thanks for all the help, i still have a scope from a previous gun so just need the rifle itself, i spoke to a friend this morning and i'm now buying a webley tracker from him. It's just to keep the number of rancid bloody pigeons down beside me so don't need a nything fancy. Another of my...

Wasn't too sure where to put this, i'm looking to buy an air rifle for round about £150 but have no idea where to start looking. My local gunshops up here are overcharging heaps for something that costs alot less down south. Has anybody got any info on where i could maybe pick up a cheap 2nd...

First night in Bivi (pic heavy)

Usually i would follow the "leave no trace" rule but it's FC land and if they think they can leave behind old emptyoil containers of 2 stroke for their machines and other rubbish then as far as i can see moving some dead sticks and trees about is not going to do any more damage. That's the...

First night in Bivi (pic heavy)

Sorry for delay in response but my laptop wasn't logging onto the forum for some reason. The rock between the bivi and the fire is a seat but i'm not sitting around much so not too worried about getting piles haha. My sleeping bag is a Novak comfort-10, it's only a 3 season but i've use it...

Spent last night in my new spot in my new bivi and it was the first time i'd slept in a bivi bag. I was told there might be some condensation but it wasn't bad really. Woke up a couple of times but wasn't bad nights kip. Woke up this morning to find my water frozen as was my basha, was -4...
