ive read on the site that these are great pieces of kit so have decided to order one. i have also read that many people have have switched the solid handle for a wire one. i would like to do this with bike brake cable but am unsure what to use to clamp the wires togeather once passed the hole on the attachment where the old handle used to be.
could someone please tell me what i could use and where they are available.
also in the original handle easy to remove.
would really appreciate any help

I used the same thing and it worked a treat, much easier to get in a rucksack

Beat me to it guys.

You can also use a small bit of brass tubing and crimp it with pliers but the choc block thingy is very solid.

I ground the screw heads off after I had fitted them to neaten it up a bit.

thanks guys, also what size would you recommend. i was thinking either 12 or 14, it would just be for myself so would the 12cm one be enough?

I can get by in a 10cm for backpacking but prefer the 16cm for any serious cooking.

Remember, you can always pack inside a bigger pot and the actual difference in weight is not huge.

i think i will get the 12cm one as i wont be doing any serious cooking in it. thank you very much for the help.
